Strategy Manager


The Strategy Manager based in Frankfurt, is accountable for implementation and achievement of SunExpress company strategy and 5 year business plan through evaluating, initiating, accelerating, prioritizing and successfully delivering its related projects. The Strategy Manager has continuous follow up status and review of strategic initiatives with other Directorates and EM members.

  • At least 5 years of experience in aviation or airline business.
  • At least 3 years of project / transformation management experience.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience this is incl. leading people and / or management of multiple related projects.
  • At least 2 years of strategy working background. This could be working at consultancy companies and / or working in strategy teams at companies.
  • At least 3 years working experience as manager in functional areas of an airline. This could be Operations, Commercial, Administration and / or PMO.
  • Very good understanding and knowledge of airline industry and how to design, transform or restructure business models and company planning.
  • Excellent in solving complex problems / questions, resolving conflicts, managing across borders and managing different cultures in international companies.
  • Excellent MS Office knowledge.

Job Description

  • Defines and authorizes the 5 year business plan or a project within the program and produces the 5 year business plan benefits statement and benefits realization plan. Works closely with cross-functional teams and assigned project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives.
  • Plans the best alternative courses of action to deliver the benefits and scope that the program was undertaken to address, by working with other project managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Identify critical requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors and Integrates projects, people, and other resources to carry out the the 5 year business plan and deliver the program’s benefit and ensures that all inter-connected projects are delivered on-time, within their scope and budget.
  • Monitors the 5 year business plan and its component projects against the benefit delivery expectations, measure the progress, identify variances from the 5 year business plan, coordinates corrective actions to be taken, when necessary, to achieve the 5 year business plan benefits.
  • Formalizes acceptance of a product, service, or benefit/result; brings the 5 year business plan component to an orderly end.
  • Coordinate and participate in project/program meetings.
  • Determine methodologies for repeatable processes.
  • Contract, acquire or temporarily employee external support to achieve 5 year business plan initiatives.
